Meet the Coach
Dual certified Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Gifted teacher. More than 20 years helping students develop the skills school assumes they already have.
Qualifications
Dual certification in ESE and Gifted means Alisha is used to designing support for students who need more structure, more challenge, or both at once.
What she teaches
These are the strategies Alisha has practiced with students for two decades — then translated into small-group and 1:1 coaching.
Binders, backpacks, digital folders, and systems that actually get used after the session ends.
Estimating how long work takes, planning backward from deadlines, and beating last-minute panic.
Helping students name what they need, ask for it, and use school supports without waiting for a grown-up to notice.
How to start, chunk, review, and show what they know — instead of rereading and hoping it sticks.
Task initiation, focus, follow-through, flexible thinking, and regulation when work feels big or boring.
A personal toolbox so homework and long-term projects do not require a parent hovering at the table.
How she works
Alisha does not treat executive functioning as a personality trait. It is a set of teachable skills. Students practice them on actual assignments, materials, and routines — then take the same tools home.
Families come to Alisha when a child knows the content but still loses papers, stalls at the start, or melts down over projects.
Share a few details about your child. She uses the parent form to match group, 1:1, in-person, or virtual support.
